New Knitting Toys

I am so addicted to knitting right now! My poor husband! He keeps having to listen to me going on and on about all the projects I’m working on, the awesome things I want to start, the beautiful yarn I already have, the absolutely yummy yarns I want to purchase, the forums I’ve been reading on Ravelry and the fantastic knitting classes I am going to sign up for on Craftsy. He’s so patient though. He lets me go on and on, most the time he even looks like he is actually interested in what I’m saying. I think it’s actually probably because he likes me but that’s a really good thing too!

The other day I got a BIG box from Amazon and I could hardly wait to rip into it. I had been anxiously awaiting its arrival since I’d placed the order the previous week. I had ordered some new knitting toys and I couldn’t wait to try them out!

First off, I ordered the Knitter-s Pride Interchangeable Sets, Nova Special 16″ Set.  I love knitting with interchangeable sets – they are so convenient. I currently have been using my Knit Picks Harmony Interchangeable set, which I absolutely love, but the cords are all longer. Then I heard that Knitter’s Pride needles are made by the same factory, which means that the tips and cords work with both brands. Awesome! Knitter’s Pride sells a special 16″ set, which is what I bought with Nova metal tips, where the needle tips are a little shorter and the cables are shorter. When they are combined they make 16″ circular needles…..the perfect size for making hats! How could I possibly resist?

knittingThe second item I ordered is something that makes me feel like a “real” knitter. I suppose that is kinda silly but it is the truth. I ordered a real yarn swift! Yep!! Just like you see in your local yarn shop. So awesome!! My husband had made me a homemade one a couple years ago. It works okay, and was definitely better than nothing, but we were ready for the real deal. The Stanwood Needlecraft Wooden Umbrella Swift Yarn Winder is absolutely beautiful. I don’t know how else to describe it! I love the fact that it is such high quality! I love how it works so well! I love how I can just leave it clamped to my sewing table all the time so it is ready to go whenever I am! And I love how easily I am now going to be able to wind all of my beautiful yarn into yummy cakes! Fantastic!

knittingI love feeding my addiction, lol! It’s fun!! Do you have any “can’t live without” knitting toys? I’d love to hear about them? I’d also love to hear about the moment you felt like you were a “real” knitter? It’s funny to say that I finally feel that way but it is true! My name is Lisa and I’m addicted to knitting!

Bye,
Lisa
