Tom and I have a really awesome weekend this past weekend! We spent the entire time “hibernating” in our big comfy bed. We cuddled, we talked, we played Plants vs Zombies and Candy Crush on the iPad, and we watched lots of movies. It was simply heaven!
We rented a bunch of movies on Saturday morning so we were set for the whole weekend. Mud was the first one we watched. It was okay, a little slow in places though. To be honest, Matthew McConaughey being in it was the best part! As a matter of fact, about 3/4 of the way into the movie I started falling asleep. I ended up cuddling up on my hubby’s chest and sleeping while he watched the end of the movie.
Next up was Identity Thief which was pretty funny. I can’t even imagine having someone steal my identity and I don’t know if I would end up being as nice as Jason Bateman’s character was. I do have to say, too, that I’m so proud of Melissa McCarthy! I’ve loved her since I saw her on Gilmore Girls years ago.
This Is 40 was the next movie we watched. I’ll be honest…..I have mixed feelings about this one. The language was pretty bad and there seemed to be a lot of talk about sex. But my husband and I could also relate to some of the jokes about being forty. It’s definitely not one to watch with the kids in the room though!
The final movie we watched while we were hibernating was Promised Land with Matt Damon. We both really, really liked this one! We’re huge Matt Damon fans anyhow, plus the story was so interesting. I highly recommend Promised Land!
We did have one other movie, 42 , that we didn’t have time to watch. Ironically, it was the one we were looking forward to the most. I know about Jackie Robinson but it’ll be fun to watch a movie about his experiences, even if they weren’t always the easiest on him. The first line of the description on Amazon is enough to hook me….”42 is a powerful film about how one man changed baseball… and changed America”!
Have you ever spent an entire weekend hibernating with your hubby? Why not plan a hibernating weekend this coming weekend?! It is such a wonderful way to relax, recharge and reconnect. I promise if you try it once you’ll be hooked!
