I am so embarrassed to post this but man is it necessary! My sewing room is a complete and utter disaster. I’ve been putting it off forever but it’s time. I hate what a mess it is. I am dreading Christmas because that is the room where we put our tree and there is no room at all right now. But mainly the reason I want to get it organized is because I really, really, really miss quilting! I am so ready to get back to sewing!!
This is a three day weekend and it’s also college football’s opening weekend, which means my hubby with be distracted with the television all weekend. Sounds like the perfect time to start this daunting task!!! I think blogging about it is a great idea because it’s going to hold me accountable. I’ll be working on this for awhile and it’ll be fun to have it documented.
Of course, by blogging about it means that I need to include some “before” pictures. Ugh….this is the embarrassing part! Please don’t judge me too harshly….

This is my beautiful, big ironing board that my husband made me. Unfortunately it's buried right now!
And the biggest challenge of all……

This is my "wall of fabric" but as you can see it's falling over. Not very safe, lol! My hope is to decrease this by atleast half, if not more, and donate to a couple special charity workers.
They say the first step is admitting you have a problem and as you can see I definitely have a problem. The second step, of course, is getting off this laptop and getting to work! Wish me luck!!
Bye,
Lisa

Oh it’s not so bad! You can totally do this!!! Nice to see your “mess” has areas and can be tackled in bits!!! Yes keep us posted! I’d love to see how this turns out!! Good luck giving up fabric for donation too
That’s not so aweful bad. I have seen worse….I just finished straigtening my sewing room, and it only took about an hour. So I was really in pretty good shape. If been where you are, just tackle one area at a time! And either throw away or put all those items in there place, don’t just shuffle junk! I’m guilty of doing that!!!! It will be nice and neat before you know it. My problem is I don’t have much space, and it’s hard to clean and put up when there’s no where to put anything up!! Post after pics for sure!!
WOW look at all your fabric!

I gotta agree with Melodee and Debbie, your mess is not too bad and I do have to admit that my own craft room has been worse (to the point of having no floor space haha!) BUT that doesn’t mean yours doesn’t seem like an absolute nightmare to you… goodluck with the cleaning and organising!! It can be a big task but it does feel miles better when it’s done! I recently donated a whole lot of my finished handmade items as they were taking over my craft room and I really had no use for them, I hear they are being very much enjoyed by some very happy girls now though

You have got a bit of a job there, but one step at a time and you’ll get there. Make a start and let us know how you’re getting on
