Dr. Emerson Eggerichs is the force behind the awesome “Love and Respect” book, which helps husbands and wives discover the distinct connection between love and respect in marriage. To sum it up simply, love is what motivates women most strongly and respect is what motivates men most strongly.  Once you are able to grasp that concept you will see a huge improvement in your marriage!

“The Love & Respect Experience” is an extension of that best selling book.  It is a “husband friendly” devotional that is comprised of 52 easy to read devotions.  I think the “husband friendly” billing in the subtitle is because of the readability of the book as well as the fact that Dr. Eggerichs suggests that husbands & wives read the devotions separately instead of together.  Then, after they’ve had a chance to process what they’ve read, they are directed to come together and discuss what they took from the devotion.

I like this book a lot.  First, it is beautiful!  The imitation leather gives it a very rich & special feeling.  This book could become a family heirloom passed down through the generations.  I also like that the devotions are short and simple yet very thought provoking.  Because the ideas behind “Love & Respect” are so spot on, the topics discussed in “The Love & Respect Experience” are going to be beneficial for all marriages – no matter how long you’ve been married or how stable your relationship is!
